The Akinjis
A thousand horsemen, riding the raid with children's glee,
A thousand horsemen, we defeated the foe three times three!
When the white clad bannerlord roared "Forth, cavalcade!"
We crossed the Danube on a summer day: A cascade
We poured into the plain from seven fronts,
Where the thunder of Turkish horses still grunts.
And one similar day, our stallions broke into a gallop:
We rose, angels embraced us in the heavens atop.
When now we see a red rose in the garden of Eden, at times
Feels like the crimson memories of the field it mimes.
A thousand horsemen, riding the raid with children's glee
A thousand horsemen, we defeated the foe three times three!
